In Cape Town’s De Waterkant, Lume is a newly opened beauty atelier that offers a luxurious array of treatments for skin, nails and hair, as well as hair styling, cutting and colouring.
Owner Jenny Kouwenhoven shares, ‘My vision is to create a new beauty experience in Africa, an “atelier”, where a talented team work with the finest products in the world to deliver the best beauty and skincare results possible.’
Attention to detail is the contemporary salon’s key focus. The atelier, designed by internationally recognised architects Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA), were commissioned to design a state-of-the art interior. Attention to every aspect of the designer space has been considered to ensure a new level of indulgence.
Marble finishes and shades of gold dominate throughout, while contemporary lights create a tranquil atmosphere. Private treatment chambers, all complete with fluctuating mood lighting and curated sound, ensure a beautiful experience. The interior colour palettes include a mix of neutral greys, white and shades of gold; carefully selected to evoke feelings of peace and calm.
